Setting Email Preference - MSU Central Email System
- Log into the university WWW information system from the
Main Menu. Click on Personal Information Menu.

- In the Personal Information Menu, select Update Address
Information.

- In the Update Address Information section, click Electronic
Mail.
- If you want to use the MSU email address in the form NetID@msstate.edu,
select the option to use this email address by checking the radio
button I want to access my email from the MSU central mail
server using netid@msstate.edu (your MSU email address). Next,
click the Continue button.
- Next, you will be asked to enter a password for your email.
In order to access your email from the MSU central mail server,
you are required to specify a password to be used in conjunction
with your netid for logging in. The password that you specify
must be least 5 characters but no more than 8 characters. It must
contain at least 2 letters and 1 number or special character.
Your password is case sensitive. Type your password in the Enter
your password field. Verify the password in the Re-type
your password for verification field. Finally click the
Submit button.
- A message will appear indicating the password has been successfully
changed.
- Congratulations, you have successfully changed your email preference
to use the MSU Central Email System. Next exit the WWW information
system by clicking the Exit icon in the top right corner.

- The new system is IMAP and POP capable meaning that it will
work with most of the popular email clients currently used by
students (e.g. Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, etc.). A Web interface
to the email system will also be available. (e.g. IMP webmail).
