- Changing
a Novell Password (405 KB)
- By default Novell passwords at MSU have been expiring
every 60 days. Beginning September 2001, Information Technology
Services no longer expires Novell passwords. Therefore,
the only way to change a Novell password is for the user
to manually change it. This factsheet will provide step-by–step
instructions for changing a Novell password in both Windows
and Macintosh.

- Portable Document Format (PDF) files are files that can
be read and used on any computing platform. This includes
all Window platforms (95,98,NT,2000), Unix and Macintosh.
Regardless of the operating system you use, fonts, formatting,
colors, and graphics of any source document will retain
their original look. Learn how to create PDF files from
various programs.

- Recently, ITS has established a campus wide license for
Symantec Antivirus for Faculty, Staff and Students at no
charge. With all of the recent computer virus attacks, it
is extremely important that Symantec Antivirus be installed
on all laptops and computers operating on campus and within
the MSU Network.

- Personal Drive:
Desktop and Laptop Tips (566 KB)
- For Super Server users at MSU (Jade , Topaz, and Onyx),
the network contains many drives that store numerous files.
Drives are used for specific applications and some are used
for specific files. The I: drive is your personal drive
in which your personal files can and should be stored. .

In addition to updating your antivirus definitions, you
must also run Windows Update to keep your computer up-to-date
with essential patches, system files, software, and hardware
drivers.
