Novell® GroupWise® features electronic mail,
scheduling, task management, and Document
Mangement all in one integrated application version.
The most significant new features will be a new user
interface, enhancements using the address book, junk
mail handling, and calendar enhancements.
Novell® GroupWise® allows you to insert a signature or tag-line at the end of items you send. For example, you can have GroupWise automatically list your name, phone number, and email address at the bottom of every item you send. This factsheet will walk you through the step-by-step process for adding a signature.
You can create, edit, save, and rename multiple address books for your personal use, as well as share these address books with other users. You can add and delete names and address information for any contact (person, company, or resource) in your personal address books. You can also create your own information properties (fields). This handout will walk you through the step-by-step instructions on creating a new Address Book.
Novell® GroupWise® lets you quickly locate the text and items in any folder and/or library that you have access to in GroupWise. Your search may be simple or complex. This factsheet will walk you through the step-by-step process for finding an item.
Proxy is a useful feature for those who manage the personal Calendars and Mailboxes of other users and resources. A proxy can receive access to some of the items in another person’s Mailbox and be notified of that person’s appointments if access has been granted to them.

In GroupWise 6.5, your Calendar can help organize your time and work. In Multi-User view, you can view the schedules of several people or resources side-by-side. The Multi-User feature is helpful for management and tracking of people as well as scheduling meetings. This document will describe the process of multi-user calendars and how to create additional Multi-User buttons.
Rules in GroupWise 6.5 can be defined by a user to perform various actions automatically. For example, rules can file incoming messages into a folder, automatically accept appointments, send an out-of-town or vacation message to those who email while you are out, or automatically forward items to other users. A rule is comprised of an action that is performed when an item meets certain conditions. Rules are a very powerful feature of GroupWise 6.5 that can help users manage their account items. This factsheet will discuss basic concepts relating to GroupWise 6.5 rules.
GroupWise 6.5 rules can be configured to accomplish a wide range of tasks by proper use of conditions. There are three parts to a condition: the Field Type, the Operator, and the Conditional Value (Operand). This supplemental document will describe many of the conditions that are available and their use. This document is also a refernce when creating complex rules.

In GroupWise 6.5, mailboxes and folders can contain many items. Filters are an easy way to find the item that you need quickly. Rather, filters display the items you specify and temporarily hides the other items. This document will describe the process of using filters.
Vacation Rule (186 KB)
If you are planning to be away from your computer for an extended period of time, people that send you messages and appointments may not understand why you are not replying to them. This document will show you how to set up a rule that will inform senders that you are on vacation or away and will forward your messages and appointments to another email address.

A shared folder is like any other folder in your Cabinet, except other people have access to the folder and it appears in their Cabinets. You can create shared folders or share existing personal folders in your Cabinet. You choose whom to share the folder with, and what rights to grant each user. Then, users can post messages to the shared folder, drag existing items into the folder, and create discussion threads. This document describes the creating and sharing of a GroupWise folder.
Installing a Shared Folder (95 KB)
Shared folders are a good way for GroupWise users to share the same information without duplication. Shared folders can help reduce the number of forwarded messages e-mailed by sharing the original e-mail instead.
